Today Mommy, Daddy, and I went with Grandma Chiodo and Uncle Rick and Auntie Sara to Melrose Park to honor Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Grandma has a very special devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel that dates back 40 some years. Mommy has a special devotion herself as she has been praying to her since she was expecting me to keep me safe and healthy. Mommy has accompanied Grandma several times over the years. We started out with mass that was in Italian and English at 9 in the morning. Then we stood with the statue outside and walked with La Madonna down a few blocks as she processed through Melrose Park. I was very well behaved in church and took a nap in between the mass and our walking. Mommy and Daddy enjoyed some lupini beans and fish at the feast before we headed to a restaurant in Hillside for lunch. Auntie Sara's birthday is coming up so we celebrated with a little Italian lunch. :) We were so busy that we didn't take any pictures. Here is one of me with my Daddy on the couch and one of me in the stroller with my Our Lady of Mount Carmel pin. We plan to go to this every year to continue Grandma's devotion and to continue to thank her for watching over me.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel, please continue to pray for us and our family and friends.
