Sad Day for Illinois

Well I witnessed more history yesterday. Mommy and I sat on the couch and watched the Illinois Senate vote to impeach Rod Blagojevich and to make sure he never can run for public office again in the state. Wow. It was such the opposite feeling from last week's excitement of history in the making.

Anyway, last week I found my fist. Mommy thought it was just an accident, but every day now I've been sticking it in my mouth to suck on. I wish my mouth was bigger. I try so hard to get my whole hand in. I turn it every which way, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it all in there! So, I settle for sucking on however much I can manage to get in my mouth. :)

Here's a picture of what I'm doing now. I'm in my king position while I sleep. Sunday my daddy figured out a new trick. This blanket on me is one that my parents got for their wedding from their friend. It puts me in a trance! I am so comfortable in it and I get the best sleep! Last night I slept from 9pm until 4:30 this morning with it right here on the couch. I kicked so much that I almost pushed mommy into the arm of the couch. She says she's use to it from when I was in her belly. :)

I've got more sleeping to do so I can keep growing. Ciao!

Sorry family and friends that I have not blogged for a few days. My Daddy has been sick since Sunday and Mommy started the same sore throat business yesterday. I was pretty congested yesterday evening and early this morning. I am starting to feel better, but my parents wish they could say the same. It seems that lots of people around us aren't feeling so well. I wish this winter weather would go away!

Today my Daddy had to go buy Size 2 diapers because I officially am too big for the 1's. Mommy went through my drawers and started to put away some of the 0-3 clothes and washed the 3-6 clothes. I'm wearing a new onesie that's 3-9 months and a new sleeper that's 3-6 mos. Yesterday I wore my pal AJ's doggie outfit that was 6 mos. I keep growing! I'm glad to be getting big, but Mommy can't believe how fast it's happening!

Well, I've been busy sleeping today trying to stay well and not get Mommy and Daddy's bug. I need to get back to my zzzz's. Have a nice evening everyone. Thanks again to everyone who leaves me comments. I enjoy reading them!

Happy First Birthday to Abby!

What a fun day I had today! I slept most of the morning before it was time to get ready for Abby's birthday party. Mommy and Daddy gave me a bath because I really needed one. After my bath, I had a bottle and fell asleep for a little bit so I would be wide awake at the party. We had pizza and cake and lots of fun! Abby received lots of nice gifts. Our mommies took our pictures before she opened all of her presents. I am glad we were able to celebrate with her!

Fun Friday

Yesterday I went to visit my Mommy's former softball coach here at LU. I was able to meet the whole team at their practice. They were practicing in the fieldhouse and George said we should come and visit. I got to meet Mommy's old teammate/suitemate too, Wendy. I liked hearing the "ping" of the bat while George was hitting ground balls to the infielders during their situational drills. I liked watching the bright lights in there too! It was really comfy in George's arms, but I liked looking at all the girls better than looking at him. He asked me to look at him, but I was happy looking at all the girls' faces. :)

I also went to Daddy's work again. Everyone over in the Union is always happy to see me. Today I was finally awake, so everyone was happy to see my eyes! :)

Here's a picture of me watching Governor Blaogjevich during his press conference before we went to softball practice. I had a huge spit up just before we left, so I ended up in my third outfit of the day. Uncle Mikey gave me this outfit and I wanted to wear it out. Unfortunately, I had a little accident!

Today is my friend Abby's first birthday party! I can't wait to go over to the Union after mass! It's going to be lots of fun!! :)

Finally an Adventure!

Since the weather finally was half way decent today, my Mommy took me out! We had lunch at Great Grandma Schaefer's and dinner at Auntie Tammy's. I met Sr. Bernie at Grandma's house! It was nice to get out of our house for awhile. We even stopped at Mommy's school, but almost everyone was out on the field trip. We did get to spend some good time with Mrs. Case though down in the Media Center! I had a lot of fun on my adventure today. I hope it gets warm again soon! I Am Strong!

Today my Grandpa AND Grandma came to visit me. They brought a coffee cake for a mid-morning snack and some great oufits for me. They are beginning to spoil me! I like the alligator one best and Mommy likes the dinosaur one. I even helped hold them up for the picture! I stayed awake most of the time they were here today. I showed them how strong I am getting. I was trying to pull away when they were holding me to show them that I don't think I need them to hold my head anymore. We had a great visit! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for visiting! I hope to see you again soon!

I Witnessed History!

What a morning! I slept through everything except for Mr. Obama taking his oath of office and his speech. I let my Mommy watch it all, and we are both very hopeful for the future! God bless President Obama! May God give him the strength and wisdom to guide our country to prosperity again.

MLK Day

Yesterday we watched football all day. We were disappointed in the Eagles' performance, but Mommy and I were happy the Steelers won. Daddy wanted to see the Ravens win. The pic of me on the boppy is from yesterday. Today, we went grocery shopping and I slept through it all. Here I am after a diaper change. Quiet days are nice days. :)
I'm excited to watch President Elect Obama's inauguration tomorrow!

Bath Time is Fun!

Here are some pictures from the conclusion of my bath last night. Bath time always calms me down. I really like the way it feels when the water runs down my skin. I feel like a king! I hope everyone is nice and toasty warm today!

A Sleepy Day!

Hi family and friends!! Last night I didn't want to sleep very much. My Mommy and Daddy fell asleep before I did. I was up several times to eat too. Today, I made up for the loss of sleep with my Grandpa and my friend Katie. My Grandpa surprised Mommy and I this morning and came for lunch. We had pizza and my Grandpa held me the whole time. It was so comfy!! I slept almost until he left. I took another nap with my Mommy this afternoon, and then I slept on my friend Katie's lap until about 7:30. Mommy fed me and I sat and started smiling for Mommy and Daddy while they ate their dinner. It was fun to be smiling!! I was so happy to have guests today, and once again I showed them how good I am when people are around! Here are a few pictures from after dinner tonight. Sleep good...and everyone who lives around me...stay inside as much as you can!!

A Spitting Image of My Daddy

This past week, a lot of people were telling me that when I was born I looked more like Mommy, but now I'm looking more like my Daddy!! My Daddy made me look even more like him Sunday night before he went back to work. Soon enough I'll be talking the radio lingo with you Daddy when you do your rounds. :) I'll be ready to take the calls for Daddy and Abby will be ready to take the calls for her Mommy. We'll take care of the campus!

My New Mobile

Today Daddy has to work all day and night because all of his residents come back for the new semester today. I miss him so much, and I'm being fussy.

Yesterday Auntie Gina gave me a Cubs mobile for my crib. I have been really fussy today, as I usually am after a big day. Mommy let me cry a little bit in my bouncer while she put this together hoping it would calm me a bit. While I didn't sleep, I did enjoy listening to Take Me Out To the Ballgame while watching the Cubbie bears circle around above my head! I just drank my bottle and am still again for a few minutes. I asked Mommy to post this picture so Auntie Gina can see how much I like my new toy. :)

My Welcome to the World Party

My Auntie Gina and Auntie Mandy threw me the best party ever yesterday! They welcomed me into the world!! They wanted Mommy to have a party for me before I was born, but she wanted to wait until I could be here to join in on the fun. We had fabulous food, drinks, and fun. Thank you to all of my guests for coming to see me! I was glad to meet you!

Making Mommy Laugh!!

Just a short while ago I finished my 6 oz. bottle. I was real fussy and wanted to stay by Mommy. But Mommy wanted to change the laundry. She put me in our baby bjorn and I kept crying. She had heard that the vibrations of the dryer lull babies to sleep. Well once she started drying my clothes, I was mezmorized!! I was asleep within moments. Mommy was laughing so hard and she was glad she had her iphone with her to take my pic. I'm still sleeping! I'm ready for Mommy to start the vacuum! Ciao amici!!

12 lbs. 12 oz!!

Hi World! Today was my one month check up with Dr. Renner. Yay! I'm 12 lbs. and 12 oz.! I'm in the 98th percentile for my weight. My head is 16 cm, which is the 92ndpercentile and my height is 22.25 inches, which is in the 76th percentile. Dr. Renner checked me out and said I am doing great! She said I can keep eating as much as I want whenever I want. I really liked that news. :)

Then, Mommy took me to Washington to see the kids in her class and the rest of the kids in the school as well as the teachers. People were so happy to see us. They all remembered me when I was inside Mommy...taking up a LOT of space. They told me how big Mommy was when they last saw me. I didn't wake up until it was time for me to be fed and changed. I was use to all that noise Mommy's kids make...I lived with it for all those months!! :) Mrs. Case, I'm sorry that we didn't get downstairs. I'm glad that you caught us in Ms. Kopta's office. We wanted to see you and thank you in person for the nice card. Mommy started chatting...and well, you know how that goes.

Tonight we are going to watch the big football game. Since Notre Dame isn't playing, I don't care too much who wins. But...I do like alligators since it starts with an A just like Anthony...so I think I'll cheer for the Gators. Plus, they are #2, so let's see them beat the Sooners!

So the pics you see today are a combo from last night and today. The ones with my Daddy are from last night when I was constantly hungry and not sleepy at all. Then there's me waiting at the doctor's office with the red side of my blanket showing. The last one is of me at home after my afternoon at Washington School. I slept most of the day, as you can see. :)
Thanks for keeping up with me, everyone!

My Tunes

Hi everyone! I put together some of my favorite songs. I like when Mommy sings these to me. I thought I'd share them with you while you read my blog. Anytime you don't want to hear them, just click the pause button on the music player. Her are my pics from today. I've been really good! I had Mommy take one of me in my Cubs bib from Great Grandma Schaefer because my Grandpa is the biggest Cubs fan I know, and I thought he'd like it. Off for my nap!

I'm A Month Old Today!

I can't believe it. I've been out of Mommy for a whole month!! I'm getting use to the whole living on my own thing. I cry only when I need to eat, am wet, or have some gas. Unfortunately, I haven't learned to not gulp my food when I eat, so that gas bit comes quite often! Today was our first day with Daddy back to work. We were sad this morning when he left. I can't wait for him to come home tonight! Here's a picture of me waiting for him in my swing. I fell asleep. I will be up in a few minutes to eat, trust me. I don't like to miss any feedings. :)

Have a good night everyone!

My First Visit to St. Constance

Today Mommy and Daddy took me to their old church, St. Constance for mass. That's where Mommy and Daddy got married. I found a picture from their wedding, so I thought I'd post it. I was just a twinkle in their eyes back then in July of 2006. Anyway, Mommy and Daddy drove back to Grandma's to pick up the power cord for the laptop and one of my bottles that they left behind last night. Before they headed to Mrs. Piltaver's house for the holiday party, they decided to take me to mass at St. Constance. Wow...what a welcome I received. So many people that know Mommy and Daddy stopped to take a look at me. I had lipstick on my cheeks from all the kisses. Father Ted even came over to see me. I think he was pretty happy to meet me because he had me go over to the nativity scene with him to take some pictures. We took pictures with the 3 Kings, Father Ted, Mommy and Daddy and my Grandma Schaefer and Great Grandma Schaefer. They ended up being at mass too!! :)

Enjoy the slide show! Father wanted to take lots of pictures. Good thing Mommy had her camera in the diaper bag! I'll have to go back again soon and visit everyone again! :)
