Moms and Grandmas are special. Mommy and I realize this and are thankful every day. During this month of May, we are especially thankful for Mary, our mother in heaven. We say our rosary daily to ask for her help. Who better than our Heavenly Mother to call upon to interceed for us to our Lord.
We started off the day with mass at St. Constance. Half way through I got a bit antsy, so we walked to the back and I waved to the "Mimi" (Mary) and "Jezis" (Jesus) figures in the Holy Family statue. We thanked "Mimi" for guiding us along the way.
Then it was off to Gram's. Grandma Schaefer has Mothers Day brunch every year. This was her 28th year! Today was just as great as ever. I hope some day I can eat the food on the table. This year she made corned beef casserole with rye bread which Daddy really liked. She also made an egg casserold with parsley and mozzarella, which Mommy really liked. In addition, she made Uncle Mikey's favorite hash brown potato casserole, the french toast bake with an apple syrup, chocolate toffee scones, cinnamon chip coffee cake, cinnamon mini rolls, and a marscapone & ricotta appetizer with fresh strawberries. YUM! Mommy and Daddy said it was so delicious and really hard to stay portion controlled, but they did it! It was worth it!
After brunch the moms and grandmas opened their gifts and then we took Grandma C home and were off to pick up some goodies for Daddy's party tomorrow. Now we are home and relaxing from a long week.
Happy Mothers Day, Grandmas! Happy Mothers Day to my Godmother, Auntie Mary Faith! Happy Mothers Day to all of my blog readers who are mommies!
